It’s been a while since we’ve seen any footage in relation to the upcoming CW series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which has been planting the seeds with it’s characters in the latest seasons of Arrow and The Flash respectively, and last night CW dropped a brand new trailer whilst also announcing that the premier will air stateside on the 21st January 2016.
The synopsis for the show is as follows:
In DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, when heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only the planet is at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
It was back in May when we were treated to a trailer on the premise of Legends of Tomorrow and the characters that will be used and the latest trailer shows a few retweaks, mainly in regards to Franz Drameh’s character (Jefferson ‘Jax’ Jackson) taking over Robbie Amell’s character (Ronnie Raymond) as the new Firestorm alongside Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber). The character that still gets the most focus is Rip Hunter, the time traveller who assemble the eight-member team to go back in time to stop Vandal Savage from taking over the whole planet (whose character introduction is coming up in the Arrow/The Flash crossover event) and the one line in particular that fans will take from the trailer is the line ‘I’ve seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall’. The ensemble includes as previously stated Jefferson ‘Jax’ Jackson and Dr. Martin Stein as Firestorm, Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz), Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Mick Rory/Heat Weave (Dominic Purcell) and they will be teaming up to take on Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). I don’t know about you but the trailer has got me excited for the show and the budget looks bigger for the special effects on show.
There has been no announcement yet of any UK network picking the rights up for the show but it’s pretty much believed that Sky will nab the rights since they have Arrow and The Flash, it’s just a question of when rather than if.
